Jamie Shooks is a Consulting Actuary with The Actuarial Advantage.  Mr. Shooks has more than 15 years of experience in insurance and risk management.  He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Mr. Shooks has extensive property & casualty actuarial experience. He has worked with various lines of business, including medical professional liability, general liability, workers compensation, property, construction defect, cyber insurance, pet insurance, and others.  His clients have included insurance companies, captives, risk-retention groups, managing general agents, hospital and healthcare systems, corporate self-insureds, and municipal and state entities.

Prior to joining The Actuarial Advantage in 2023, Jamie served as Vice President of Actuarial Reserving at Global Indemnity Insurance Group.  Prior to that, Mr. Shooks was a Principal and Consulting Actuary at Milliman, Inc.  He has also held positions at RiverStone Group, a Fairfax Financial subsidiary, and PulteGroup, Inc.

Mr. Shooks holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Business Administration from Alma College.
